Art Nouveau Furniture

What are the strengths and weaknesses of Art Nouveau furniture?

...Particularly the designs of Louis Majorelle (1859 - 1926)
...I know about Art Nouveau style, and I know what his designs looked like, I just need to know their strengths and weaknesses.

They are gorgeous.
Art Nouveau was very naturalistic. Nature was influencing everything. There was entwined handles and sinuous legs.
Curves and flowing lines like flowers growing out of the ground.
The pieces were often very ornate which does not always suit modern homes. They were also delicate. Their strange shapes made them awkward to fit into small rooms and the cost of inlaid and hand worked pieces made them expensive.
