Where can I find fake gold coins to use for costume trim?

Wright's ribbon used to have gold coins on trim for sale but I can't find them. I've also found on the net belly dancers use them but they are very expensive. I just need about 20 of them. Thanks for any help.

I don't know if you have a Michael's, Jeffrey Alan's, Hobby Lobby, or some similar store where you live, but many such hobby related places offer fake "coins" like that. Also you can try your local coin shop or dealer...they might have some cheap genuine coins made of brass, etc. from other countries that look goldish, but aren't, and can be bought inexpensively. If you want to use a US coin, go to your local bank and get 20- Sacagawea golden colored dollars...cost...$1 each. Maybe that's more than you want to spend, but it's an option anyhow. Can you explain why the guy making the Ron Paul gold coins is in trouble?

Why is it against the law to make gold coins. As long as you are not trying to counterfit a county's currency, why would taking gold and forming it into a coin be against the law?

Wrong, it is not illegal to make "commemorative" coins saying one dollar on them if the real value is there. Our country for years had dozens of private mints turning out coins of every description. They all had to have at least the real weight in real precious metal.
This latest thing is a banking cartel power grab pure and simple. The Ron Paul dollars were becoming a threat to their fiat paper that is a unit of debt! We won't see a supply of Ron Paul dollars for some time as winning a law suit and recovering confiscated property is no simple task regardless of the fact that what they did was/is totally illegal.

I have 20 Irish gold coins that should sell for $400
each. Ireland 1990 50 ECU coin. What would be the

worth my while to have them graded before I sell them?

You have to remember one thing is, whenever buy gold, you should ask the certificate of purity from the jewelery or the bill which showing th purity of the gold coin. Once you present the same, anyone will give you the money or exchange the same with.

You might have not present the same and that is the reason they are not willing to give gold against your coin.

Are £5 gold coins 22ct gold like the gold sovereign?

Are £5 gold coins the same carat gold as gold sovereigns? I know british gold sovereigns are 22 ct and full sovereigns weigh 8grams, but i want to purchase a £5 gold coin and they weigh 39grams, so i was wondering if they would be around the same price as gold krugerrands, even though the kruger is 1oz and made of 24ct gold.
Please explain why.
