Costumers please help? I have an authentic edwardian costume to wear for a play can you advise whether...?
the ruffled blouse (worn under a bolero jacket) is tucked INTO the skirt or worn out and over it? there is also a matching velvet waistband that does up at the back. I am not sure what happens with this....?
Edwardian costume was designed to be worn over tight corsetting with a very cinched in waist so yes, definitely tuck the blouse into the skirt and then hide the join between the skirt and blouse under the velvet waistband (as you call it). You should wear this just like a man would wear a cummerbund with a dinner suit, today.
