How do I construct an Edwardian hat?
I've been invited to a 1908 Edwardian tea party, and only have about a week to get everything around (ah, procrastination). I have yet to put together my hat, and I'm having a little difficulty starting off. The only blank hat I really have is a flat brimmed hat I purchased in Williamsburg, Virginia and it looks like: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/241/454955252_cfa45edde7.jpg?v=0 (the one second on the right). I was wondering if anyone could give any suggestions.
Thank you! :)

How do I use a hat pin?
I have an Edwardian-style straw hat and would like to use a hat pin to keep it from flying off all the time. But I can't seem to figure out how exactly a hat pin is used. Presumably it's stuck through the hat and into the hair somehow but exactly how this is supposed to work I'm not sure. I wear my hair in a low bun, and it's usually fairly flat against my head. I'm not sure if this is a problem or how I could solve it either... If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. ^_^
Thanks!
The hat pin pierces the outside of the hat, usually at the back, goes under the hair, against the scalp then out the other side. If your hair is in a bun, all the better to keep your hair from slipping out from the pin. I would suggest putting a little rubber or cork tip on the sharp end after it's secure to keep it from sticking yourself or someone else!
How do I attach a veil to a top hat?
I want to wear a top hat with a veil for Halloween. I bought the top hat and the veil material, but I can't figure out how to attach it. I want it to look moderately Edwardian and I want the veil to be tighter to the hat straight across the middle of my face (not long and flowing like a bridal veil.) How do i attach it? At the back where I'll put a flower and a ribbon? Help!
try hot glue, that's the fastest, figure out where and mark the spot add the glue. Or you can use Elmers or Ailnes Fabric glue
Hope this helps
