How much is this ring worth?
I have a 18 ct. gold ring with 5 genuine cut diamonds from the Edwardian period. It is not in immaculate condition due to age but very acceptable. Can anybody give me a clue what this piece might be worth?
The best thing to do is to take it to 2 or 3 jewelers or independent appraiser and get appraisals. Don't leave the ring. If they can't appraise it while you wait, go elsewhere. You could even check with the Antiques Road Show. See the first and second links below.
The web site at the third link below has some good suggestions. I don't know anything about them and am not endorsing them but the advice seems OK. Don't ship your jewelery off for appraisal either. You may not get it back.
Your ring could be very valuable.
how old is my antique ring?
does anyone know any sites/people who can tell me this? the ring is eighteen carat gold, with a three carat citron held in by decorative prongs, leave detaling is on the side of the band, the band is thin..help? i think the ring may be edwardian but i really have no idea.
You need to take it to a gemologist, they need to see it to know how old it is.
When they do that they can also tell you things like who made it based on how the stone is cut.
I doubt very much there is a website that can do that, it needs to be seen, it could be a copy made to look like it's antique.
