* Composition:
** Outer layers: 80% silver, 20% copper
** Inner layers: 20.9% silver, 79.1% copper
* Silver content: 4.60 g (0.1479 troy oz)

Copper-nickel clad issues (regular circulation from 1971 to date):

* Weight: 11.34 g (0.4 oz avoirdupois)
* Composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel

This may sound stupid, but I was wondering where to find the date of issue on a Kennedy half dollar?

the one I have says 1776 - 1976, so is it 1976?

The bicentennial Kennedy half dollar was produced in 1975 and 1976. It returned to the original design in 1977. They started minting the original Kennedy half dollar in 1964.

Not ebay or coin shop

Go to a local bank you should be able to get them for face value.

1972 Kennedy Half Dollar?

We were moving and I found in coins put away a Kennedy half dollar with a perfect Cross in his hair line to the left of his ear. Any ideas? It appears to have been etched in.

Unncirculated kennedy half dollar?

I have a uncirculated kennedy half dollar and i was jus wondering if later on in the future will its value raise and how much do u think it would cost in about 20 years

These coins don't increase in value nearly as much we often think they would. I don't think it will be much more than a couple of dollars, even in twenty years. Sorry.
