Money collections?

I have just started a new job in money collections.How can I improve my question technique script to get more promise to pay.

How do you deal with office gift and money collections?

Every day someone is asking me for money -- someone's leaving, pregnant, death in family, in the hospital, also fundraisers for school, church, Scouting (candy, catalogues, etc.). I can't do everbody I'd be broke. I don't even know who some of these people they are collecting for.

Well, what you can do is speak with the people you work with and see if you can get a small club going. In most companies there is a "rainbow club" and what it does is each person who wants to be involved donates like $50 per year. Then that money is used for all of these gifts throught the year and your name is added to the card. Instead of it being an everyday thing this is one way to organize the gift giving with out having it come out of your pocket at a bad time. It is also ok for you to say that you can not financially contribute to every event. As long as you contribute periodicly its ok, and it is ok for you to skip gift giving for someone that you dont know/like. Remember that you work there to pay your bills... not to throw that money right back into the office. I think that the idea of an annual gift giving group will be most benificial because then its once a year and thoes who want to be part of it can and thoes who dont, are not. Good luck. How do you budget your money on your collections?

How many collections do you have?

For me, I want to collect three different kinds of well, dolls.. Pinky street, Barbies, and Pullip, but I just can't seem to budget my money well on these three therefore I can't focus my collection in one type..

for you, how do you budget your money well? do you still save for yourself?

as silly as this sounds i use a tin,

i (like yourself) have various hobby that could get outta control so i have a tin for each one, and i just save the money in the tin and only use the tins savings for that hobby type. it's hard not to break the habit and spend outta your own pocket but you just gotta do it

Can I get my money back from collections agency if I can prove that I wasn't liable for a collections?

I was forced to pay the collection item while buying a house. I now have evidence that should absolve me of the debt. Is there any way that I can get my money back?

Wow, where do I begin. First, let's address the obvious issue here.

Take a look at the first answer. Notice towards the bottom where he lists his source as debt collector? Yeah, that alone should be enough to tell you what kind of answer you're gonna get from here. If you want, you can go back and read his answers from the past couple weeks. Believe me, this guy is FULL of incorrect information and I've pointed it out in SEVERAL questions he has answered.

You didn't give alot of detail into what the situation was or what proof you have, but personally I'd send this collection agency a certified return receipt letter demanding the funds be returned as well as showing proof.

If that doesn't work, send them an intent to sue letter. In this letter, tell them they have X amount of days (usually around 5-15) to refund the money or you will file your lawsuit. Also include that you will be filing complaints with the attorney general and BBB in both their state and yours.

Oh, and you might want to see if any consumer credit lawyers in your area offer free consultations. If you have damages that they can prove, they may take the case on a contingency basis.

what will happen to me if i don't have the money to pay the collections?

i owe money to community college i went to (only went for 1 semester) didn't get approve by the financial aid or loan. they have been calling for the past few months/year and now they sent it to the collections. i dont have money to pay the collections with the full amount i owe. i only make $300/week. i don't wanna do any consolidation or file bankruptsy. what can i do to pay them... installment? and do i go to jail if i don't pay them asap or get deported since im only an immigrant?

are you an illegal immigrant or legal, theres a diffrence. if you are legal you are fine, you won't go to jail or get deported, but they will not stop calling you and you will eventually pay...they will end up taking you to court and they will win and they will garnish your wages, you'll watch that $300 a month turn into $150 or $100 instead....i'm going through similar ordeal with capital one.. i owed them $650+. I agreed to settle for $477 and tomorrow (payday, yea,lol!!!) i am sending the first installment which is $75. Each month thereafter until March 17th, I am sending $134, then it's paid off and it doesnt hurt my credit as bad. I really cant afford to pay the $75 but it's better than getting my wages garnished and having no control over it. This way, i got to be a part of the settlement and agreed instead of being forced...Those phone calls are enough to make you suicidal, so it's best to settle with them...i still have another $800 credit card to pay as well, this one is already in collections, so now i have to make an agreement with them so i can send a little each month til it's paid as well. i cant wait til i see that day...on top of it all, it's christmas and theres presents to buy and then the other day some bar on my tire broke and I have to pay $200 to fix it. Life sucks but hey 'tis the season....lol ....I hope this all works out for you and I just want you to know that I'm right where you are and I know it feels like theres no way you can do it but you can....somehow someway those bills will get paid.....

Is it considered a balance transfer if i try to transfer money from collections?

i have bad credit and i wanted to get a credit card to restore my bad credit, can i transfer a balance from (a loan, or previous credit card) to a new credit card and is that considered a balance transfer.

can owing money for a ticket go to collections or effect your credit in california?

i owe some money for a couple of tickets and im worried that it has gone to collections or that if i get a credit check ran that the balance will show. fyi: im trying to rent an apartment and they are going to run my credit. besides that i dont have any credit history, i just wanna make sure that this wont show up. HELP!

If you are talking about driving infractions, I'd be very surprised if the state of California used debt collectors to collect their debts for them. It seems like it would be redundant...because creditors use the court system to get their money. They already ARE the court system.

Tickets should NOT affect your credit but, may affect other things like, oh I don't know...a warrant for your arrest maybe? Like going to jail if you get pulled over again.

It's not smart to not pay tickets. You know that. I don't need to tell you.
