I am looking for wooden bowls or trays to paint primitive pictures on.?

I find lots of them at second hand shops. I've got a full set that I picked up for 10 bucks. Second hand shops rule!

why is it okay for National Geographic to have naked pictures of "primitive" people?

National Geographic often has pictures of dark-skinned, so-called "primitive" people in developing countries whose natural state is to be topless (or fully naked) - both men and women.
Why is it okay to print pictures like that, but not print pictures of naked white people or city people?
Before you argue that "it's because its in their culture to be naked", I will say that "well, some white people like to be naked to - it's called nudism, or sunbathing - and it is part of THEIR culture too"

And why has no one called National Geographic pornography?

I dont believe nudity is always pornography, but there are some people who do (like John Ashcroft who thought the statue of the lady of justice in the Justice Dept was obscene because her breast was bare, so he ordered it to be covered up...what a douchebag!!!)

"Primitive" people being naked is their way of life. Their culture has not transcend to a clothed society.

"White" people being naked is an expression. Their culture has transcend to a clothed society, so why be naked??

Primitive/Country Maroons/Navy Decor Pictures please?

Does anyone have this type of decor with pics they have online they may be willing to share? Or any sites with actual designs? I have seen lots of sites but none specific to this decor. I would like to do maroon/tan gingham/berry something like that or any ideas would be greatly appreciated pics too!! steracrudy@yahoo.com

How to make a Bioscope (primitive motion picture projector) for entertaining kids?

If not a moving picture, a simple mechanism for frame by frame projection is enough.

No - but knowing the right name may help you track down the directions - it may be a kinetoscope. I saw one made from a lampshade kind of thing with another cylinder of paper inside - Something with the light inside and the spinning created the picture show. As a kid we use to make a little stick figure drawing on the corner of the note pad page - with a little different position on each successive page. When done we would fan through the whole notepad and the stick figures would look like they were walking or what ever.

What aspects of our world and culture will be seen as primitive and barbaric by future people?

Just as we look back and picture how primitive and barbaric we once were.

Also what do you think the future REALLY will be like?

In the future, scientists will continue to discover how insignificant we are, and how the idea of God is more and more unlikely. Nanobots will make everyone a perfect human, and everyone will be able to mold their faces and bodies to perfection. This sort of technology will basically make everyone more and more like each other, unless there is a big divide of haves/have nots of technology.

I think we will look back on persecution as being barbaric, as reasons for persecuting people will go away. War between humans will also seem stupid, as we'll probably have other threats, some accidentally man-made, to deal with.

However, in my opinion, the future is not soon. There are many interesting technologies coming up, such as invisibility, nanobots are probably in the works, robotic exoskeletons... however I think it'll be a long time until crazy tech like this is perfected, and I think that in a few hundred years there will be a leap in technology where a lot of stuff is discovered at once, probably with a new power source too.

And when VR is invented everyone will re-live the good old days of the 21st century! Well in seriousness when VR is invented most people will never come out of their own worlds again.

country primitive decorating?

my house is decorated in country rustic primitive and I need some ideas for my ceiling.I want something cheap.I have looked at faux beams and they are really pricy.does anyone know a cheap way to turn a ceiling into rustic country primitive?any pictures online would help.

You can get beaded board, either the "real" stuff in strips or in 4x8 sheets, at Home Depot and Lowe's.

You can also look up "pressed tin" online..it's a very country look. So is corrugated tin, if you can find some that isn't bright and shiny!

If you have access to an old barn or shed being torn down, the wood can be salvaged for the ceiling.
