silver dollar?
I found an 1882 silver dollar in excellent cond. in the sands of a wash in the Az. desert and it has no mint mark. I did find out that means it was minted in Philadelphia but how can I find out how much it is worth? The prices of these coins are so different.
First of all not all coin dealers are crooks. They need to make a profit to stay in business and feed their family. You knowing something about the coin you have, helps keep them honest, a dealer usually need to make a least 40%. Now a coin found in a wash can not be very high grade and must have some damage to it. It may be shinny, but that is from water or sand damage. It may have a lot of tiny scratches due to weathering. With a mintage of 11,100,000 it is not a scarce coin. Most of the time, I can give the person some of the things to look for, that makes a coin a certain grade, but in your case it won't work, due to circumstances of you finding the coin, I would really have to see it. Anyway as a guesstimating of value, it could be from 7 to 8 times face value for the silver in it to, around $16 if it can reach a grade of extra fine. Values are about what a dealer would pay. It is actually worth more than money, as a really neat find. To bad it could not talk, for it must have an adventure to tell.

What is the difference between an 1889 Morgan Silver Dollar and an 1889CC Morgan Silver Dollar?
I have a Morgan Silver Dollar, and I want to know how much its worth.
The mint mark is located on the back at the six o'clock position underneath the eagle. CC (for Carson City mint) is by far the best mint mark and 1889 CC silver dollars are quite rare.
The other possibilities are no mint mark (Philadelphia mint), O (New Orleans mint) and S (San Francisco mint).
Condition of the coin makes a lot of difference, also.
Here is a listing of all 1889 silver dollars presently for sale on eBay. Once you determine the mint mark, this will give you an idea of what your coin will sell for:

What does it mean when a "silver dollar" has a fat upper lip?
I just noticed this morning that one of my silver dollar tropical fish has an upper lip that is swelled up and pink. It is quite unsightly. He is active and eating currently. Is this some kind of parasite or fungus infection?
sounds like its an infection of some sort. could be the start of mouth rot. i would speak to someone at your local aquarium for a sutable treatment before it really starts to spread. once a fish is infected it only drags the fish down and the disease gets to spread quicker.

Why is my silver dollar eating my other fish?
I have had my silver dollar for 7 years, recently it has been eating my other fish. I thought they were herbivores, but I have witnessed him swallowing smaller fish whole and chewing on other larger fish. Is there something wrong with it? Or is this normal?
It is very normal for a large silver dollar who has been in the tank for 7 years to eat or kill other, newer, smaller fish.If it fits in the mouth,it will be eaten or bitten. The silver dollar is a semi aggressive fish. It is related to the pacu and pirahnna. Yes,they eat plants but an intruding fish will be attacked.

What is the life expectancy of a silver dollar?
My by's silver dollar died today. He got caught in one of the fixtures in the tank. Does anyone know the life expectency for this type of fish. He has some red devils and irridescent sharks that he has had for 13 years. If you have info on them as well it would be appreciated.
Silver Dollars can grow to 6" and probably larger. They live for several years.
Silver Dollars are schooling fish and should be kept in a group with at least six Silver Dollars.

What types of fish can be kept with Silver dollar fish?
I got a tank and the fish from someone else and there was 2 silver dollars, 2 golden barbs (one died when we caught the fish and a silver dollar accidentally bumped into him), one common Pleco. What other fish can I keep in the tank? I would like to get some more golden barbs, they look like fun little fish to have.
Any suggestions? Oh the Tank is 93cm x 36cm x 33cm. Dunno how much gallons that is.
I suggest you get a couple more Silver dollars and a few more golden barbs. They should be OK tankmates for that size tank.
The pleco may outgrow the tank, but that will take a year or so.
BTW - your tank is about 100 litres (around 25gal)

What is the value of a 1924 Silver Dollar now?
I have an old 1924 Silver Dollar that I wanna sell. I dont know what the value of it is. On one side it has LIBERTY(written and picture), IN GOD WE TRVST, and on the other side is an EAGLE, written is: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA E PLURIBUSUNUM, ONE DOLLAR< & PEACE. And where can I est sell it for maximum value?
1924 is not a rare date for Peace dollars. In circulated condition, it's worth about $10. A nice uncirculated one is worth about $15
Find a coin dealer in your area and have them look at it.
