Tips on buying silver rounds from a coin dealer?
I want to buy silver rounds to have security in the event of another depression. If there were another depression, which kind of silver rounds should I go after?
If you want to buy silver rounds buy ones from a recognized source like Englehard, Johnson & Mathey, etc. If during an economic meltdown you plan to exchange your rounds for goods or services, remember that the person on the other side of the transaction will want some assurance that your silver is genuine.
Another thing to consider is the price you will pay when purchasing your silver rounds. There will be a premium to pay above the silver content, of course. You'll want to keep this as low as possible. Try to get a discount for quantity.
Alternatively you may want to consider buying "junk" silver coins instead... common circulated dimes, quarters, and half dollars dated back from 1964, sold in quantity lots, as bullion. The premium you will pay on this form of silver will likely be lower, you will be able to spend your silver more conveniently and efficiently in smaller increments, not to mention the coins are from a blue ribbon source - the US Mint.
Interesting question!

Which is better Silver Bars or Silver Rounds?
I wanted to know if there really a difference in buying silver bars or silver rounds. If there both pure silver does it really matter? I've seen that sometimes silver rounds cost more than silver bars and vice versa. Which is better?
There is no difference with rounds and bars. However there is a big difference between bars/rounds and the coins produced by government mints. The coins produced by government mints are money and are recognized as such. They have a floor price which is the face value. The rounds produced by private mints are not legal tender and have no floor value, same with the bars. Bars and rounds have less of a premium on them however in a currency devaluation, collapse or economic crises then the coins produced by government mints would be more easily recognized by the public in a trading and barter situation. I only buy 100 ounce bars and Silver Maple Leaf Coins from Canada. The Canada Maple Leaf coins have a $5 face value and I live in Alaska so alot of goods and services come through Canada. Canada has a published deby that is less then 1/10 that of the US which is why I have also been buying Canada currency from our local bank to hedge against the US dollar.

How do I decrease the number of rounds in my browning silver hunter 12 gauge?
I recently purchased a browning silver hunter 12 gauge shotgun. The silver hunter can hold three 3" shells in the magazine and one in the chamber. I live in California and it is illegal to hunt small game with a shotgun that holds more than three shells in the magazine and chamber combined. Does anyone know how to decrease the number of rounds my gun will a comidate?
Your gun should already have a plug in it. It may be turned around, which will allow it to hold more shells. First read your owners manual, it probably explains all of this in there. Unscrew the magazine tube cap, it will have a long spring in there, take it out and turn the gun upside down, the plug should fall out. It should be round plasctic with one end that is almost as big around as the magazine, and the other end skinny enough to fit up the middle of the spring. If you turn it around so the bigger end is facing out, this should solve your problem. The spring will be harder to compress when you put it back together though.

If silver rounds aren't a legal tender, how could they possibly be secure?
In the event of a depression, I want to buy a bunch of silver, but I was informed by a coin dealer that it's not a legal tender. People say silver is a good thing to invest in if we are to have a depression, but if it's not a legal tender, how can it be a secure investment?
Legal tender is somewhat of a legalized scam. For example the dollar bill is defined as legal tender currently. The government could change the law defining it as not legal tender. In the past the government has changed the legal status of silver certificates, gold certificates, and even gold coins. Consequently, I would not get too over enthalled about whether something was legal tender or not. Even though the dollar bill is still legal tender in the U S, it is worth about 40% less relative to the euro than 8 years ago. In other words so much for legal tender.
Now lets talk about depressions. One of the results of a depression in the past is that the value of money increases relative to other types of assets. What I mean by that is that the price of things tend to fall. Home values today are an example of that as are the value of equities. The prices of these in general are falling. During a depression the price of silver most likely would tend to fall. But there is a situation where this might not be the case during the next depresssion. That would be the situation where the government prints dollars like mad to generate inflation to fight a depression as we are currently seeing happen. This causes the relative values of hard assets to become worth more relative to the value of the "legal tender", especially when people become more and more disallusioned with the "legal tender". This is what is currently happening in the U S today. People are becoming disallusioned with the "legal tender" and moving out of dollars into oil, gold, corn, silver, euros, and anything else they can find.

Why are 10oz silver bullion ingots more expensive than 10x1oz silver bullion rounds?
I think the so called silver ingots is pure silver and suitable for making jewelry. The market sells silver bullion ingots higher price than the silver bullion rounds.
