how should i decorate my victorian hat?
for tomorow night. i have to b a victorian teen girl. 1890's style. my hat is black and has the round thing around it but is pinned up in the back. decorating tips?
when i say 'round thing' i mean brim. sorry.
Put a ribbon on it that matches your gown
and maybe a nice gardenia flower or a rose
someplace toward the back or side.
Those are victorian-like.
Lace might be nice for the ribbon if you have it.

looking for a unique, 1 of a kind beautifully dressed teddy bear in a victorian hat enthroned in a chair?
God gave me a gift for creating the most beautiful teddy bears which I dress in 3-4 layers of co-ordinating lace, complete with a matching victorian hat complete with bows, flowers and pearls. The bear LOVES gold. She prefers "Gold" earings, but is open to other options. She is one of a kind. Give me the colors, and I will design a original 4 you!.. you will be amazed. PLEASE inspire me be4 I loose the Gift God gave me. I have the supplies, just need some motivation. I was inspired and NOW I also create many of my flowers....................Just a girl who needs to make a living. This is my avenue for advertising. I had a dream about my husband crying uncontrollably and in I was wearing a victorian style dress and hat?
It is said that dreams of a past life often include elements of the time period. This could be one of those dreams, however the important thing is what is going on now that could be a re-enactment of a past life occurance?
Most likely that was the purpose of the dream. Are you about to make a choice that would distress your husband?

You may have to try some serious costume shops-NO, not the kind that just sell around Halloween. I'm talking about stores that sell costumes year round. They usually sell to theaters and places like that. Check your phone book-or better, www.superpages.com is a good site, because all you have to do is put in a keyword, and it will give you several subcategories.
If anything, you could always have one made. I buy patterns and while I was at home (before I came to school) I made one similar like it, because I couldn't find it anywhere. So that's always an option.
If you still can't find anyplace, email me, I may be able to make you one.

Where can I find instructions for one of those little victorian hats that women used to wear? The sideways ones.

Depending on what you need the hat for, you could also modify an existing hat. I built a replica 1880s hat for my sister for a part in a play; it included a basic white beach hat, some veiling fabric, silk flowers, and a big fluffy feather. It looked quite authentic and we got many compliments on the hat.

Hatpin help! I need to know how to use the hatpin with the 1800's style hat I am wearing for a victorian tea.
Poke the pin through the crown of the hat, maybe about half-way between the brim and the top. Be sure it grabs some of your hair as it's making its way through, and poke it back out the other side. It may take some practice getting it in strait. It looks nicer if each end is sticking out at an equal length, rather than pushing the pin all the way through to where the head is flat against the hat and the point is sticking way out on the other side. Just be patient in trying to get it in strait. You'll get it eventually. =)
