Where can I find high-res pictures of Victorian or Oriental dress prints?

I need pictures of dress prints, preferably Victorian or Oriental, as reference for a project. And I need said pictures to be of high resolution.

You won't find many high res images on the web, unless you look through a stock photo house such as Dreamstime (http://www.dreamstime.com/) or Veer (http://www.veer.com/), but they charge big bucks for the hi res stuff.

Best to go to a public library, borrow the books and scan the images in hi-res yourself. This may or may not be legal depending on what you use them for.

Where can I find pictures of victorian window dressing?

I looked on the internet and the library,can't find pics of this vintage style of drapes and curtains and how a set of 4 windows over 6 feet tall are dressed.The parlor has two windows next to each other in the center, and one on each side.I have all the other rooms to do also.

Different search engines will give different results for same key words.

try key word search variants

"Victorian curtains" Had good results

"Victorian window dressing" Did not come up with very effective results

Key word variants looking for images had no result.

Finally, look at more than the first page of results. Priority is for comercial benifit and information sites tend to fall on later pages.

Any idea where I can find pictures of old Victorian/glass Atrium roofs?

I am designing a Grand Foyer for a design class, and I cannot find any pictures. I keep flashing back to a scene in the movie the Haunting, a greenhouse/atruim room, am I calling it the wrong thing? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC, has an atrium similar to what you've described, and you can find pics on their website. Also, do a Google search on 'solariums', which is another type of glass room.

what site can i look at pictures of people in the victorian era?

what site is there that has many many pictures of people from the victorian era. like alice liddell and pictures of normal people and cats, just very old pictures from the victorian era in general

If I were you I'd google-images "Victorian Era" and look for pics that way. Then you may be able to trace the pictures back to their website.

^^ just tried that and there are lots of cool pictures.

Does anyone have the book 'Great Victorian Pictures, Their Paths to Fame'?

book produced by The Arts Council of Great Britain for the 1978 exhibition. It contains a photograph of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert dressed in medieval costume. Who was the famous photographer in Victorian England who took pictures of destitute families?

I remember my high school history teacher telling us about him; the image that stuck with me was of children drunk on gin and passed out in the gutters. Does anyone know the photographer's name or where I can find his photographs online?
