For Victorian men, did they have an 'acting mentality' in order to be able to wear wigs and higheels?
The look began in the 17th century, actually, thanks to Louis XIV in France and that he was a bit pompous and quite short. The French pretty much set the fashion of the time and whatever the royalty did trickled down to everyone else and it just spread through Europe
The look evolved as fashion evolved, and wigs and heels were finished by the turn of the 19th century (except, of course, wigs still worn for occupational things -- judges, etc) and was long gone by the Victorians.

Halloween, Victorian hair help?
Hi, for halloween, im going wear a victorian dress. I need a hairstyle. What can i do to have victorian, 18 century hair with up to your shoulders, little waves, a bit of curls kind of hair. I don't want fake hair extentions, a wig, or to dye my hair! I wan't to use my natural hair! Pics would help. I can use overnight velcro hair curlers.
This site has some good realistic Victorian hair styles....

They aren't as complicated as one thinks.

Any doll experts that could give me advice on fixing a wig on a 1950's madame alexander doll?
Hi, have a 1950's binnie walker doll by madame alexander that I am planning on fixing her wig...just wondering if anyone could give me some help or advice,I just don't know where to start.....the hair of the wig itself is in good shape...it is set in victorian style curls...I think this was a relpacement wig, and who ever did it didn't do such a good job...you can see some glue on the hairline...and its is all over her left ear...and you can also see the glue on the back of head when you part her hair....is there a way to remove the wig and clean off all the glue? How can I tell for sure if the wig is hers that some just restyled, or a relpacement? I took some photos..they are not the best...but you can kinda of see what I am talking about...thank you for talking the time to read this, and for your help in advance, also...some one glued a hat to her hair..what is the best way to remove the hat without ruining the wig?
Hello! I am going to give you some links on tips for dealing with doll wigs. You'll have to look for the right section on some of the pages, but it will be on the page I have linked to. Most include more information than you will need, but they each have recommendations for dealing with the glue overages and wig removal. Several different products are recommended. The first page was done by a good friend of mine. This page is about wig replacement, but there are tips on wig and wig glue removal mixed in with the direction. I hope you find these pages helpful.

Family Guy - Stewie on Piano - What was the last song he played?
Alright there was this episode of Family Guy where they went to Quagmire's cabin and went swimming in Lake Quahog, which waste was being poured into and they all lose their hair.
Afterwards Peter gave them Victorian/Antoinette wigs to wear and Stewie was playing a mini piano and was requested to do several songs by the family. Peter asked Stewie to play Peter Griffin and this is where I come to my question...
What was the song that Stewie played for Peter?
This was also the episode where Lois ran for Mayor of Quahog to clean up Lake Quahog.

Need help don't know what to do with my hair.?
Hi i am wanting to be for halloween as a victorian i already have the dress, just no idea what to do with my hair, was looking everywhere for a wig but none that ive seen that i like.
I was even thinking about going to the hairdressers and getting some up do done there, but again i'm not sure all help would be appreciated .
I have already tried that, its more a masqurade ball hair i'm looking for
hey! don't worry , am sure u'll find a way to dress your hair ! what lenght is it? if your hair is short you can buy a wig at this website
http://www.fancydress.com/shop/cat-browse?category_id=8
or if your hair is long , you can add some hair piece and curl it . If you want to change the colour , there is some colour spray that u can also buy on line. I don't thing it's worth it to go to the hairdresser but it's up to you. I think that it may look too perfect for the halloween night if you go to the hairdresser. It needs to be a bit messy.
I hope that helped you...
Which fancy dress party are u going to? I'm going to one as well on the 27th.
take care and good luck with you're hair
