Symbols on stamps and coins to represent England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales?

What symbols are there on stamps and coins to represent England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales?

As far as i am aware, the only coins currently issued with different regional symbols are pound coins. The design is changed each year - you can find photos of the designs here:
http://www.ukcoinpics.co.uk/dec1p.html
and a history with a description of the coins here:
http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/dec1p.html

The symbols used on regional definitive stamps were:
Wales - dragon
http://www.collectgbstamps.co.uk/displayset.asp?setid=469
Scotland - lion
Northern Ireland - red hand of Ulster

In 1999 regional definitives were replaced by Country Definitives. First introduced in 1999 to replace regional stamps, Country Definitives feature four stamps; one featuring each of the countries respective national emblems, the other three featuring iconic images from each country. To achieve this, the Queen’s Head is reduced in size and placed in the top right hand corner of the stamp.

I have several 1990 50 ECU Gold Ireland Coins I want to sell or smelt.?

The coin contains 15 grams of .917 Fine Gold and they are un-circulated (5,000 minted). How much would this net if I was to smelt it? Also what are the best ways to go about selling this? I have tried Ebay already and talked to some coin dealers but it seems everyone wants to lowball the actual worth of the coin.

Thanks in advance

How should I sell my Irish gold coins?

I have 20 Irish gold coins that should sell for $400
each. Ireland 1990 50 ECU coin. What would be the
best ways for me to try to sell them. And would it be
worth my while to have them graded before I sell them?

certainly don't put them in a kettle at the end of a rainbow, like i did *#&$ing thieves...

Are the Euros in Ireland made in the same place as the rest of Europe?

What I am trying to ask is - do all the different countries that use the Euro make their own coins/notes? Will the Euros in Ireland have anything 'irish' on them or the ones in Germany anything 'german' on them? Do people collect any special ones? Any other fun facts or interesting facts would be great too. Thanks

All the countries of Europe, with the exception of England who uses the pound, produce their own euro. Each euro, no matter where it comes from is worth the same as accepted everywere euros are the national currency. Each eruo has the same 'head' side, while the reverse is different for each country. Some countries rarely produce coins, while others make them every year. The reverse of each euro features the name of the country that minted it, and a picture or a signet influened by that cuntrie's culture. I have some, I could send you pics if you'd like to see.

Also, euros are roughly the size of a quarter, but no coke machine will take them no matter how loud you yell or how hard to you hind and kick the machine or how many threats you make to topple the machine. I know this from personal experience. Coke machines also do not like pound coins, which are also the same size as a quarter.

Does anyone know where I can find obsolete Irish Pound Coins?

I am looking for two or three Irish 1 Pound coins for a project. I'm interested in the version minted from 1990 to 1999, with the Deer on the front and the harp on the back. Since Ireland switched to the Euro, they've become impossible to find. Does anyone have any ideas?
I live in the US, so there is not a ready supply available.

Check ebay. You not allowed to sell currency unless it is obsolete (i.e., old European currencies).
Good Luck!
P.S. You might want to see if you can get the Millenium pound coins (only a few came out in 2000).

I found a jar of coins from foreign countries my parents collected on their honeymoon. Are they worth anything

As far as I can tell, the coins are from the 40's, 50's, 60's and one from the 70's. I think there are some from Belgum(?), Germany, France (?), Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, and one bill (1 Riyal) and a coin from Saudi Arabia from the Gulf War era. There's one bill from the Republic of Egypt, and a few coins I brought back from Thailand from about 1990. There's one last mystery coin from "Republik Osterreich" with "Groschen" on the flip side. Aside from the memories, I was wondering if they're worth much monitarily (should I insure them or anything) since the world has changed a lot since the 40's? I suspect some are no longer minted. Does that mean anything?

Not sure on much to do with the value. But to clarify the "mystery coin" is from Austria. At least that is was Osterreich means.

Landlord wont give my deposit back - Ireland?

I rented this place for 4 yrs and recently moved out. Landlord is keeping 100E out of the deposit due to a small chip in the plaster on the stairs - about the size of a 2E coin. I have done general repairs myself over past few years like installed an electric shower when old one broke 293E. Cant believe the nerve of the guy. Anyone have any experience of this in Ireland.

Why don't you go to a small claims court?
